Metta Hermitage provides a conducive environment for those who wish to experience the Buddha-Dhamma through solitude.
We are often so involved in group activities that we forget to experience a little solitude. We are so conditioned to group living, the crush of modern life, gadgets and instant gratification, that we shun solitude. And yet, it is the solitary life that leads us to experience calmness, serenity, inner harmony and inner peace.
Metta Hermitage welcomes those who would like to experience solitude as part of the Buddhist experience. The Hermitage can accomodate groups of up to 40 with the opening of the Siddhartha Meditation Hall in April 2006.

Opportunity to make some merits
Construction of Wall around Metta Forest Hermitage
To all those who have faith in
Buddha Dharma ,would like to support its sincere practice and would like to
propagate the Teachings to one and all.
After much consideration and deliberation I decided to offer to people who
are supporters of Dharma an opportunity to earn some merit for their beloved
ones.
How do we go about it? By participating in the construction of a simple wall
(batu block or hollow blocks without any plaster). It requires felling some
huge trees and clearing some bushes around our forest hermitage etc. before
putting up the walls.
Helping out in the construction and maintenance of a forest hermitage is a
very noble action. There are not many forest hermitages where Buddha Dharma
is studied, practiced and taught. Besides, meditation is encouraged. The
resident Guru himself teaches the Dhammapada, meditates and guides those who
take the trouble to come to the hermitage on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
This forest hermitage is dedicated to the Practice of pure Buddha Dhamma.
Life is too short to waste time on customs, traditions, rites and rituals.
Let us follow the path of the Lord Buddha who even after obtaining
enlightenment continued to live a simple life and taught the precious
dharma.
Each and everyone who has faith in the Buddha Dhamma is urged to participate
in this noble project by donating towards at least one wall 10 ft by 5 ft
with just ordinary hollow block without any plaster. Names of donors will be
displayed . Work is already in progress. Everyone is welcome to come and
view the work in progress.
The cost of each wall is RM400/-. If the figure is high one can donate
whatever is possible and we can combine it with another person. For further
details on how to donate, please call Guru at 0192379244.
Your co-operation and participation will be a blessing.

Provisions such as rice, cookies, cash donations and other necessities were also distributed to the needy. Our guest of honour, Bro. Quek, gave a speech on Buddhist living.
